Chalk It Up to a great time! By Allison Selk

October 21, throw out all inhibitions and spark your creativity at the third Chalk It Up festival in downtown San Antonio.

This is an event to celebrate San Antonio’s creative spirit. It began in 2004 and shortly after was named “Best Arts and Cultural Project” by the Best of Downtown San Antonio Awards, according to Libby Tilley, external affairs coordinator.

This event is very popular, with over 6000 attendees, and is a great family-oriented place to enjoy. Revelers can enjoy the amazingly creative works of over 50 artists as they turn the city sidewalks into fabulous works of art. Also, hundreds of students from area schools and community groups come together to showcase their talents Tilley said.

Another fun activity for attendees is a super-sized street mural everyone is invited to help create! Tilley mentioned there will be a variety of family-fun activities offered in the Kidzone- “a place where imaginations soar!”
